The flag of Venezuela dates from 1811, the beginning of that nation's
struggle for independence. The basic design includes a horizontal
tricolor of yellow, blue, and red.

Venezuela was one of three countries that emerged from the collapse of
Gran Colombia in 1830 (the others being Ecuador and New Granada, which
became Colombia).
