The previous flag of Thailand (which was then called Siam) has only
red and white stripes; the flag before 1916 pictured a white elephant
on a red ground.
The flag of Thailand was adopted on September 28, 1917. The flag
contains five horizontal strips that are colored red, white and blue,
with the red stripe being the widest of all the strips. The colors
stand for the nation, religion and the king.

Thailand and most used.

The flag of Thailand consists of five horizontal stripes. The top and
bottom are equal-sized red stripes, the middle stripe is blue which is
lined above and below by equal-sized white stripes. The blue stripe is
double the size of the other four.
The flag of Thailand shows five horizontal stripes in the colors red,
white, blue, white and red. The middle blue strip is twice as wide as
the other four. The three colors red-white-blue stand for
nation-religion-king, an unofficial motto of Thailand.
